The annual Halloween event organised by the Tacú Family Resource Centre will this year take place in the Lakeside Sport and Fitness Centre, on Wednesday, October 28, from 5 to 7pm. Further details and information will be available at a later date.
Christina Hynes was the winner of €115 in last week’s 50/50 draw conducted by the Tacú Family Resource Centre.
Meals on Wheels are hot meals delivered to individuals at home (either on a temporary or long-term basis). Meals on wheels can make your life easier. This service covers Ballinrobe and the Lake District area. Deliveries take place on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s and consist of soup, main meal and dessert. People can also avail of two meals on Monday’s and Thursday’s.
Low-cost counselling is available in the Tacú Family Resource Centre, Main Street, Ballinrobe. Contact 087 2859973 to talk confidentially and/or to make an appointment. Each call to the low-cost counselling service is dealt with promptly and the caller is matched with a suitable counsellor. This is an extremely confidential service.
Youth Counselling is available by contacting the Tacú Family Resource Centre. Two counsellors are available for young people aged 16-25, who are struggling with relationships, anxiety, worries, or who just simply wants someone to listen to them. There was no winner of the €22,150 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Monday, September 14. The numbers drawn were 4, 8, 14 and 23. The €25 winners were Mark Tuffy, Brenda McTigue, Ger Heneghan, and Tracey Flanagan.
The results of a mixed competition held on Thursday, September 10, and sponsored by the Bowers Bar and Restaurant were as follows: 1st Mary Farragher, Billy McGrath, Gerry Sheridan, and Kieran Ferriter (29.1); 2nd Laura Bourke, Padraig Costello, Kevin Naughton, and Damien Martyn (30.2).
There was no winner of the €5,700 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Monday, September 14. The numbers drawn were 17, 34, 35 and 36. There was no match three winner.
The Ballinrobe Rugby Club senior ladies’ team are currently seeking new players for the upcoming season. No previous experience of playing rugby is required, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Those interested in joining are asked to contact Jill on 087 6446065.
The club held its weekly 50/50 draw on Sunday week last, with Maureen O’Toole the winner of €415.
The Fairhill House Hotel, Clonbur, will organise a Sleep Out for Simon in aid of the Galway Simon Community on Friday, October 2, from 6pm through to 6am on Saturday, October 3. This is the third year running that the team at Fairhill House Hotel have organised such an event. The team have received tremendous support in the two previous events and every donation, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated.

The Neale GAA Club in conjunction with the Tacú Family Resource Centre, Ballinrobe, are hosting a charity football match in Cong on Saturday, September 26, at 6pm, to help raise funds for low-cost counselling services in the local area.
A monster raffle will take place after the game and some of the prizes include: dinner for two at Ashford Castle; dinner for two at Wildes at The Lodge at Ashford; golfing for four at Ashford courtesy of Niall Rochford; a fantastic food hamper, sponsored by O’Malley Food Distribution, Cross. There was no winner of the €6,000 lotto jackpot draw which was held in Garrymore, on Sunday, September 13. The numbers drawn were 1, 2, 21 and 24. The €50 winners were Mary Agnew, Lissatava; Conor O’Keeffe, The Ranch, Claremorris, and Lorraine Corcoran, Garrymore.
There was no winer of the €2,600 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Tuesday, September 15. The numbers drawn were 7, 14, 20 and 21. The €30 winners were Deirdre Blake, and Brendan Vahey. The €25 winners were Mary Nalty, and Adrian O’Malley.
The numbers drawn in the Western Alzheimers weekly lotto which was held on September 16, for a jackpot of €16,400 were 8, 22, 18, and 10. Mayo Abbey.
The numbers drawn for the lotto which was held on Tuesday, September 15 last were 2, 18, 21 and 29. There was no jackpot winner, and the €30 winners were John Commons, Fionn and Lucy Garvey, Neil Parkison, and Niall Brett. The jackpot in the draw which will be held today, Tuesday, September 22, is €5,100.

It is also the pick up and drop off point for Local Link Bus Service which goes to Castlebar daily, Tuesday to Saturday and Claremorris every Thursday.
