Local Notes: Great team performance from Enniscrone Kilglass Community Games U13 Futsal team
 
 Well done to the Enniscrone Kilglass Community Games U13 Futsal team who played 3 brilliant games before getting knocked out in the semi-final, losing 4-3 to St Feichins. It was a great team performance by all.
Councillor Joe Queenan is delighted to announce funding for this years Enniscrone Events and Black Pig Festival of €3500 under the Regional Festival Fund. Joe has been a proud volunteer committee member for over a decade. This committee organised the St Patrick’s Day Parade, the Black Pig Festival, Christmas Lights and the Charity New Year’s Day Swim. Joe extends thanks to Sligo County Council for acknowledging and supporting one of the festivals in the county.
A new work hub which is warm, peaceful and served by high speed broadband has been set up at the new Kilglass Community Centre. The first day is free and the following is the price list; day pass €15; 4 days per month €45; 8 days per month €70; 12 days per month €90; unlimited per month €130; dedicated work station €180.
There is a flexible base for corporate membership whenever a team need a quality workspace. Annual membership is €400 for your team which includes 25 day passes to Co-Working Hub, 10 hours use of a meeting room. Booking is essential and can be done by emailing kilglassdigitalhub@gmail.com.
Congratulations to Mattie Coleman, a member of Ballina Athletic Club who came second in the National Half Marathon in Dunboyne recently. He ran a very impressive 1:41:30. Well done Mattie.
The Enniscrone Pier Swim which is sponsored by Colman Electronics will be held on Saturday, June 29.
The numbers drawn in the Eoghan Rua Ladies Football Club lotto, which was held on March 25, were 3, 7, 23 and 31. There was no jackpot winner and it was increased to €14,300 for the draw which was held on Monday, April 1.
Saturday vigil Mass in Rathlee will be changing to 8pm as and from Saturday, April 8, and will be staying at that time for the foreseeable future.

Enniscrone Kilglass Community Games are holding their athletics event on Sunday, April 28, at 2pm, at Quigabar GAA pitch. This is for running, hurdles, long puck and throw ball.
Calling all 18 to 30 year olds. Do you want to explore your faith with other like-minded young people in a beautiful and reflective location? A retreat for young adults will be held at Lough Derg, Pettigo, County Donegal, on Saturday, April 27, from 10am to 4pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. This retreat is organised by the Knights of Columbanus, Omagh and is free of charge. There will be guest speakers, inspirational talks, reflective time and concluding with the celebration of Mass. Training takes place on Monday evenings from 6 to 6.45pm on the astro for 8 to 9 year olds; 6.45 to 7.30pm on the astro for 10-17 year olds and at 7pm Fit 4 life in the West Sligo Family Resource Centre. On Wednesday evening, training is held from 6 to 6.45pm on the astro for 5 to 7 year olds and on Thursdays at 8pm for Fit4Life in the West Sligo Family Resource Centre.

Enniscrone Kilglass Gaelic 4Mothers&Others are back for their 7th season. Before they took their break their numbers were growing each week. They hope to get all the ladies back training on Monday evenings at 8pm in the indoor astro Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA pitch. They are looking for new members to join their amazing group. If you are interested, why not come along on the night. No previous experience is needed, you must be over 25 years old, it is suitable for all fitness levels and it is a great way to meet new people, have some fun and get fit. The West Sligo Young at Heart Club in Dromore West Community Centre are back in full swing on Monday with exercises from 11 to 12 and walking football. On Tuesday there is chair yoga from 12 noon to 1pm and on Wednesdays, sewing is held between 10.30 and 12.30pm, whether you want to learn how to alter clothing or make something new, knit or crochet, it is all going on. The kettle is on and biscuits waiting, so why not head to Dromore West Community Centre.
The date for the Enniscrone Kilglass GAA Cul Camps 2024 is July 29 to August 2, and registration will open shortly.

Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (12-25 years) presenting with anything from common concerns (eg. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties, such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. The Buggy Buddies programme with Bernie Finley, in conjunction with Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership, meet on Wednesday mornings at 9.45am for a walk at 10am. Castleconnor GAA Club are delighted to announce that Jim Curran as Club President. Jim has given lifelong service and support to the club and all at Castleconnor GAA Club look forward to many more years of Jim supporting the red and white.
Well done to Paula Cuaretero who won gold in the breaststroke at the county swimming competition last week.
The Castleconnor Handball and Racquetball Clubs annual night was hosted in the Loft Bar and Restaurant, Ballina, and a spokesperson for the club extended thanks to Robert Hallinan who sponsored the tasty bites, the venue and music; and also to Dominic Flanagan and Michael Jones for organising the racquetball members and for the competition prizes handed out on the night.
On Sunday, March 24, the club part hosted the B Connaught Handball Championship with Bofield Handball Club. The club was represented in the boys U11 doubles by Michael Jones and Lorcan Foody and in the boys U15 singles by Adam O’Connor.
