Two-night stint in Castlebar sells out in 45 minutes for chart toppers

Castlebar is set to host one of the biggest live music events in the West of Ireland this year with back to back shows by Kingfishr in December.

Irish music sensation Kingfishr has officially sold out their highly anticipated two-night run at the TF Royal Theatre in Castlebar – and they did it in just 45 minutes on Friday morning. With a large number of fans expected to attend the two concerts across the weekend of December 13/14, Castlebar is set to host one of the biggest live music events in the West of Ireland this year. These two December shows mark a major milestone for both Kingfishr and the TF Royal Theatre, highlighting the town’s growing status as a key destination for major Irish music acts.

The atmosphere in Castlebar is expected to be electric all weekend, with local hotels, restaurants, and businesses preparing to welcome thousands of visitors in the lead-up to Christmas. “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Kingfishr for not one, but two sold-out nights here at the TF Royal Theatre,” said Pat Jennings, Managing Director.

This year has been monumental for Kingfishr: they launched their debut album Halcyon in August, which went straight to No. 1 in the Irish Album Charts, while their smash hit single “Killeagh” held the No. 1 spot for ten weeks and has now been certified 10× Platinum in Ireland. Their 2025 schedule includes sold out headline shows at Dublin’s 3Arena in December, plus multiple dates in 2026 across the country already selling out.

The band’s blend of powerful songwriting, soaring melodies, and unmistakably Irish sound has struck a chord with fans across the country – and these two nights promise to deliver a standout live experience in the heart of Mayo.

“Events like this don’t just bring music fans to Castlebar – they bring real economic benefit to the whole town,” said Michael Yates, General Manager of the TF Royal Theatre.

“We’re expecting a major boost for local hotels, restaurants, pubs, and shops in the run-up to Christmas. It’s a win for the venue, a win for the town, and a brilliant showcase of what Castlebar has to offer.”
