Rare chance for wannabe trad musicians
Beginner classes for adults who wish to learn traditional Irish music are to get underway in Ballina.
The chance to prove that it’s never too late to learn an instrument or how to play traditional Irish music is being offered by the Moy Valley branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
Beginner classes for adults covering a range of instruments are to commence in Ballina this coming week in what is the first time that traditional Irish music classes have been offered by Comhaltas Ceoltóiri Éireann to adults in the region.
“Many adults never had the opportunity to learn an instrument so these classes are an ideal opportunity,” said Eamonn Walsh, PRO of the Moy Valley branch, adding that there has already been huge interest in the classes.
The classes will commence on Tuesday, January 13 at 8pm in The Merry Monk on the Killala Road, Ballina.
