New art exhibition to open in Michael Davitt Museum

The Michael Davitt Museum in Straide.
A new art exhibition will be opened at the Michael Davitt Museum in Straide on Friday, October 24, at 7pm.
The Infrangible Bonds Collection is a series of acrylic on canvas and glass paintings by Bó Gorm.
The speakers on the evening will be Margaret and Yvonne Fannon.
The exhibition is an epic journey through ancient Celtic kingdoms, myth and legend, lands of kings and druids, saints and scholars, fairies and folklore, poets and bards.

Crossing the boundaries of the past and present, of fact and fiction, of nations and continents, and creating an unbreakable bond between our past, our present, and our future Bó Gorm is a Mayo artist, who trained and worked in London as a stonemason. He has worked on many heritage buildings at home and abroad, and now works for the National Monuments of Ireland, which brings him into contact with many of the sites associated with the mythological stories of the past which inspires his paintings.T
The Michael Davitt Museum is located in the heart of the Land League village of Straide (Eircode F26 FX37). The museum is in the former church where Michael Davitt was baptised and his parents were married.
The building was beautifully restored by the Office of Public Works and opened in its current location on October 27, 2000.
Michael Davitt is laid to rest in Straide Cemetery, adjacent to the museum.
