The Moy Singers are making final preparations for their 'Magic of the Musicals' spring concert in the Great National Hotel in Ballina on Saturday, April 12th, at 8pm.

The group recently made a donation to the Ballina Convent Regeneration Project from its Christmas raffle and street singing.

Chairperson of the Moy Singers, Mona Jackson, said: "The project is already seeing the benefits to the local community with Ballina Men’s Shed now occupying a space within the facility and with many more opportunities for community groups and organisations, as well as those in arts and music, coming on stream in the near future”.

The Moy Singers have nomianted Teach an Uisce - Sub Aqua Rescue and Recovery as the charity to benefit from their Spring Concert raffle. The organisation was founded by chairperson James Colohan and treasurer Trevor Mayock in 2003.

Mr Colohan said: "Throughout each year, we take part in as many searches as we can along with trying to make a positive impact in the community such as the community clean-up which we are heavily involved in, helping out every Saturday morning.

"We clean out the River Moy twice a year along with clearing the outdoor pool in Caltragh (Brusna).

"We gained training from the Ballina Order of Malta for first aid. We teach younger generations about scuba diving and water safety, with some of our members giving talks in schools. We also have a strong connection to Mayo Mental Health Association which is actively trying to prevent suicide and also give us methods to de-brief after a successful search.”

Ahead of their 40th-anniversary celebrations in 2026, the Moy Singers look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, April 12th, in the Great National Hotel and they thank everyone in Ballina and the wider North Mayo and West Sligo areas for their support over the past four decades.
