Belleek Castle to host major fundraiser
Stomptown Brass will bring their high-energy live performance to Ballina
An exciting weekend of events including a high-energy live musical performance to raise money for a local cause, a curated market and the reopening of a popular local café takes place at Belleek Castle this weekend.
Summer begins in Jack Fenn Café, which reopens for the season from this Wednesday, May 6 and will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 8.30am to 5pm each week.
On Saturday next, a summer market will take place from 11am to 4pm in the gorgeous surrounds of the courtyard. The market features a curated mix of Irish craft, vintage and design with Imelda and Smidge Stores.
There will be a festival-style atmosphere in the Castle grounds on Saturday when Stomptown Brass bring their lively, feel-good high-energy performances to Ballina.
Blending sweeping soundscapes, relentless rhythms, groovy drops and captivating visuals, the expansive band line-up of two drummers, two trombones, two trumpets, sixteen hands, one sax and one big tuba are known to blow a serious racket that’ll get any crowd on their feet.
The lively event is fun for all the family and a fundraiser in support of the Ballina Sensory Park Project, located in Tom Ruane Park. The project, driven by the dedicated volunteers of Ballina Clean Up and Flow Community Project, has already made significant progress in creating an inclusive, engaging outdoor space designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
Importantly, Stomptown Brass are performing free of charge, meaning that all proceeds raised after essential event costs will go directly towards the continued development of the Sensory Park.
Tickets are €20 with free entry for children under 12. Jack Fenn will be serving throughout the day, with an extended evening offering of burgers, hotdogs and more.
On Sunday, May 10, the Smidge Market continues from 11am to 4pm for a relaxed day in the courtyard. Jack Fenn Café is open again with delicious food and drink offerings in store. With lively music, great food and drink and an unmissable market, it is an exciting weekend at store in Belleek Castle.
