United battered by the Ever-green machine

The atrocious playing conditions in Milebush this afternoon did not deter the Kilkenny & District league champions Evergreen FC as the two-time FAI Junior Cup finalists dumped out Westport United following a superb second-half performance.
The sides were goalless at half-time, but United's final ball let them down throughout and a quickfire double by David Grincell put the visitors ahead 15 minutes into the second half.
Westport had a little more joy late on but former Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers player Michael Drennan netted on 82 minutes to seal their fate before a delightful lob by Jamie Owens capped off a fine day for the green and white.
