Padden hat-trick inspires Iorras win as Ballyglass hit K/K 'B' for six

It was a drive for five in the final 20 minutes for Ballyglass in their 6-1 win over Kiltimagh/Knock United B at CMS Park. Tiernan Egan gave the Swans the lead by half time but Rafael Costa levelled matters. A flurry of Ballyglass goals in the closing minutes gave them a big win as Jack Keane with a double, Oisin Moran, Liam Hughes and Dean O’Malley all lined up to hit the back of the net.

There was a big win as well for Westport United B as they beat Ballyhaunis Town 5-1 away from home. Lukasz Roda gave ‘Haunis the lead but Daniel O’Malley’s brace and last season’s Premier Division Golden Boot winner Ted Horan netted a hattrick to give the B’s a big win.

Kilmore put three points on the board with a 3-1 win away to Ballyheane B. Caobhlin Flatley scored twice and Evan Ivers also found the net for Drum outfit. Kieran McGreevey scored the goal for the hosts.

The bad weather put paid to the other tie in this round of Premier Division games. Glenhest Rovers versus Castlebar Celtic B was postponed.

Killeen Sports Ground League One

Dara Padden smashed in a hat trick for Iorras Aontaithe in their 4-2 win over Killala at Carne Nash. Ryan Ruddy opened the scoring for Iorras early on. Killala equalised through Stephen Morrell but Padden soon made it 3-1. Johnny McNulty’s goal for Killala threatened to make it a nervy finish but Padden completed his first senior hat-trick to seal the three points for Iorras.

Conn Rangers B maintained their one hundred percent record with a comfortable away win against Swinford. Shane McHale and Duane McDonnell both netted braces to give them a 4-0 win.

Fahy Rovers beat Partry Athletic 5-1 away from home with goals for Ryan McGonagle, Jack Staunton, Oisin King, an own goal and substitute Simon Duffy, who scored with his first touch after coming onto the pitch. Ben Horan netted the only goal for Partry in their second defeat in as many games.

Claremorris B enjoyed a dramatic 4-3 win over Ballyvary Blue Bombers. Colm Lynch gave the Bombers the lead but Claremorris raced into a 3-1 lead through Liam Kerans, Gareth Murphy and Ben Joyce. Lynch and Kevin Hall levelled the game for Ballyvary but Davy Hennessy’s strike proved to be the winner for Claremorris B.

Ethan Minogue rescued a point for Castlebar Town with a late penalty against Crossmolina B. Shane McKinley gave Cross’ B the lead but Minogue’s injury time spot kick divided the points between the two sides.

McDonnell Construction League Two

Snugboro United return to Mayo League football began with a win as Colin Corrigan goal from a corner on twenty minutes was enough to see them past Conn Rangers C in Mount Falcon on Sunday morning.

Another side making their return to Mayo League football this season made it two wins from two as a goal in each half from Kyle Holmes saw them earn a 2-0 win over Fahy Rovers B in their first outing at Ballybeg Park this season.

Sean Vahey and Conor Jennings scored for Ballinrobe Town B in their 2-1 win over Achill Rovers. James O’Hara scored a direct free kick with 77 minutes played but Achill could not find another way past Quinten Keady in the Ballinrobe goal.

Westport United C picked up a 3-2 win over Ballyvary Blue Bombers B. Rian Durkan scored twice and James McNamara the other to give them a strong 3-0 lead at half time. They were made to work hard for the win when Dermot Hynes and Roan Naughton scored in the second half but Westport held on for the three points.
