More local events fall victim to weather

The Connacht FA has followed the decision of the GAA to postpone the Mayo SFC Final, by postponing its entire programme of matches this Sunday afternoon due to safety concerns on account of an orange weather alert.
In keeping with the decision of the GAA to postpone the showpiece Mayo Senior Football Championship Final this Sunday, the Connacht Football Association has today decided to call a blanket postponement of men's Connacht Cup, Shield and girls U19 Cup fixtures that were also due to be played.
That's on account of Met Eireann's orange weather warning that has been issued for Mayo and Galway tomorrow.
The Connacht FA has already rescheduled the matches for next weekend, October 26/27 and home advantage will still stand.
In the Connacht Junior Cup, Westport United were due to host Shiven Rovers, Kiltimagh/Knock United were to travel to Ballinasloe Town, there was an intriguing game planned between Ballaghaderreen and Castlebar Celtic, Ballinrobe Town were heading for Ballisodare United and Ballyheane were looking forward to entertain Knocknacarra.
