Mayo rugby star earns international call-up

Aoife Heaney.
One of Mayo’s fastest rising stars in rugby has been called up to the national side for the upcoming U18 Six Nations Festival.
Aoife Heaney, who plays for Claremorris Colts RFC, is currently training with the Irish squad ahead of their opening games tomorrow (Friday) against England and Italy.
She is the only Mayo player to be called up to the national side.
In a statement, the club said Aoife’s call-up is 'a huge achievement and well-deserved recognition for her hard work, talent, and dedication'.
“Best of luck to Aoife and the entire squad as they prepare to represent Ireland on the international stage.”
In addition to her stellar club form, she has been in action with the U18 Connacht Rugby side and was involved in their Interprovincial Championship Final win over Leinster back in February.
Ireland’s next two games will be against Scotland and France on Tuesday, April 15, before they conclude their tournament against Wales on Saturday, April 19.
