Mayo player enters reckoning for Rugby World Cup

There’s been exciting news for Ballina RFC’s Ailish Quinn with confirmation that she has been added to the Ireland Women’s World Cup preparation squad.
A joint winner of a
Mayo Sports Stars Award earlier this year with her Ballina and Connacht teammates Emily Foley and Grainne Moran, Ailish Quinn has entered the shake-up for selection for the Women’s Rugby World Cup which will take place in England later this year, from August 22 to September 27, with London, Bristol, Brighton, Exeter, Manchester, Northampton, Sunderland and York all hosting games.The news follows hot on the heels of the announcement that Emily Foley has been named by head coach Niamh Briggs in the 35-player Irish U20 squad for the 2025 Summer Series in Wales against Wales, France and Scotland.
