Mayo League teams learn Connacht semi-final opponents

Castlebar Celtic will take on Salthill Devon in the Connacht Cup semi-final.

Castlebar Celtic have been handed another home draw in their quest for back-to-back Connacht Cup final appearances.

After beating defending champions Athenry in the quarter-final last Saturday evening, they will have to face another Galway heavyweight Salthill Devon in the last four.

Salthill have enjoyed much success in this competition over the past few years, winning in 2021 and 2022 before losing to eventual champions Athenry last season.

Should Celtic defeat Salthill, another Galway opponent will stand their way in the shape of Maree/Oranmore or Colga FC in the final. Maree/Oranmore defeated Ballyheane on penalties last weekend while Colga accounted for Westport United earlier in the competition.

In the Connacht Shield semi-finals, Westport United will travel away to Cloonfad United of the Roscommon & District League. The other semi-final sees Ballinagare Manor (Roscommon & District League) face Moyne Villa (Galway League).

All semi-final ties will be played the May Bank Holiday weekend (May 4/5).
