A club in the Mayo Football League have found an unexpected fanbase in the USA.
While exploring her Ancestral roots in the Manulla area, Meghan Leineweber stumbled across Manulla FC and was so excited that she decided to contact the club to acquire some of the leisurewear so that she could proudly support the club of her ancestors that emigrated upstate New York in the 1800's.
"We did love exploring the area and even saw where my great great grandfather was born and baptised. My family surnames from the Manulla area are Rafferty, Durkan, Hughes, and Farrell. They all immigrated to upstate New York in the mid to late 1800s," said Meghan.
Manulla were more than delighted to support Meghan's request and the gear arrived to her home just a couple of days after Christmas.
In a post on social media, Manulla FC said: "I would like to thank Deirdre Dunne, our kit shop manager, and to Matteo Menarini M2Sport for helping with the quick dispatch of the order.
"Wishing Meghan and her Family many happy hours sporting their new gear and we look forward to the next visit from our new supporters club."
