Ireland and Liverpool FC legend John Aldridge visited Knock Shrine over the weekend to pray that manager Jürgen Klopp changes his mind.

Klopp stunned the football world last month when he announced that he would be stepping down as Liverpool manager at the end of this season.

The 56-year-old said he was "running out of energy" and could no longer perform the job the way he has been for the past eight seasons.

Aldridge, who played 104 times for the Reds netting 64 goals, said he also prayed that Liverpool complete the quadruple this season (winning the Premier League, UEFA Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup).

"In the shrine in Knock folks what a spiritual place, said a few prayers including the quadruple and Jürgen to change his mind," Aldridge wrote on X.
