'Legend of the game' - Tributes pour in following passing of League of Ireland great Ollie Horgan

Tributes have poured in following the death of League of Ireland great Ollie Horgan at the age of 57.
The Galway native, who was most recently Galway United's assistant manager, passed away following a short illness.
In a statement, Galway United said: "It is with immense sadness that Galway United share the news of the passing of Ollie Horgan.
"A legend of the game across Ireland, Ollie joined the Galway United family ahead of the 2023 season and has been instrumental in the club’s success ever since.
"On behalf of everyone at Galway United, we would like to offer our deepest condolences to Ollie’s loving wife Anita, his children Emma, Anthony, Brendan, Conor, David, his sister Mary, his brother Gerard and his extended family and friends. Ollie was predeceased by his mother Bernie, father Joe and brother Martin.

Sligo Rovers were among the League of Ireland clubs to pay tribute to Horgan, saying: "Sligo Rovers FC is deeply saddened by the passing of Ollie Horgan.
"Ollie was a respected figure in the League of Ireland, whose passion, dedication, and commitment to football left a lasting impact. His knowledge and determination brought out the best in his teams.
"Above all, Ollie will be remembered as a man of integrity who gave his all to Irish football.
"We offer our sincere condolences to Ollie’s family, friends, everyone who knew him, and all at Galway United during this difficult time.
"May he rest in peace."
While the league added that, "Everyone at the League of Ireland and the Football Association of Ireland are deeply saddened by the passing of League of Ireland legend Ollie Horgan.
"Ollie was loved by so many around the League where he was a legendary figure at Finn Harps and also left his mark more recently at Galway United.
"Our thoughts are with Ollie’s family and friends at this time.
"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
