Ireland call-up for talented Mayo footballer

A Mayo footballer has been called up to the Republic of Ireland U19 squad.

Thomas Morley from Knock, who previously played with local club Kiltimagh/Knock United will feature in the squad to play Greece, Croatia and Mexico in the next week.

The talented midfielder is a part of the Sligo Rovers U20 squad and was awarded man of the match in their cup final against UCD.

K/K has a history of producing talented footballers; both John Mountney and Michael Schlingermann played youth football with the east Mayo club and went on to have distinguished careers.

Another K/K alumni, Roisin Molloy, also hit the headlines in recent days when she won the League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division title with Athlone Town, capturing the title with a game to spare after defeating Bohemians.
