Green light for new south Mayo sporting facilities

Mayo County Council have granted planning permission to Ballinrobe Town Football Club for the development of new facilities.
The south Mayo soccer club have been given the green light for the development of new soccer pitches and a clubhouse complex on lands at on the Neale Road at Ballinaya, Ballinrobe.
The club has grown over the last number of years with teams all the way through underage level for girls and boys, as well as senior women’s and men’s teams and its current location on the Green struggles to provide the capacity for this growth to remain ongoing.
The proposal includes the demolition of existing agricultural sheds and a new internal vehicular access spur from the nearby established cemetery access road to the new clubhouse.
The development will feature three new pitches comprising one full-sized grass pitch, one full-sized all weather 4G astro pitch and one 9-aside mini-3G astro all weather pitch.
The plan includes 93 car parking spaces, 50 cycle parking spaces as well as Tertiary Wastewater Treatment System and Infiltration /treatment area, and all landscaping and boundary treatments, ancillary works and services.
