There have already been some high profile departures and arrivals in the Mayo GAA club scene as the county championships draw to a close.

A big-name appointment has been confirmed in intermediate for 2027 as John Maughan will be leading Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin next year.

Maughan has enjoyed a storied management career, guiding Mayo to three All-Ireland finals and Clare to a historic Munster championship success.

At club level, he led Lahardane to a breakthrough Mayo and Connacht junior title in 2017. Most recently, he was part of Brian Benson’s backroom team in Crossmolina.

Meanwhile, Knockmore are on the lookout for a new manager after Ray Dempsey left his role following the club’s group stage exit.

Dempsey returned to the Kncokmore hotseat at the end of 2024 after a stint managing the club from 2018 to 2022, guiding them to back-to-back Mayo senior championships in 2020 and 2021.

Expressions of interest can be submitted by email to secretary.knockmore.mayo@gaa.ie or directly to any member of the Knockmore club executive, with the deadline on Saturday, November 7.

Outside of Mayo, former Ballintubber manager Kevin Johnson has been added to the backroom team of newly-appointed Galway manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice.
