Two-time All-Ireland club intermediate finalists Tooreen have announced a new manager.
Shane Morley takes charge of the Mayo and Connacht champions who were pipped in this year’s All-Ireland decider after extra-time by Upperchurch-Drombane in Croke Park. It marked the final game in charge of Ray Larkin who has since focused solely on managing the Mayo senior hurling team.
Shane Morley was a member of Larkin’s Tooreen backroom team, as was Stephen Lenehan who is to serve as head coach.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, Tooreen GAA said the appointment of the duo will bring a sense of “handover and continuity”.
“Shane and Leno have been lifelong members of our club as players, coaches and officers. The lads are busy preparing for the season ahead and we wish Shane, Leno and their management team all the very best of luck going forward.”
Tooreen’s opening game of the 2026 Mayo Senior Hurling Championship will be away to St Ciaran’s, in Ballyvary, on August 16.
