Two injury-time goals saw Ballyhaunis Community School win the Bobby O'Connell Memorial Cup at the expense of Gortnor Abbey Crossmolina in Bekan earlier today.

Despite conceding an early Derry Óg Cox goal, Gortnor Abbey led 0-8 to 1-3 at half-time courtesy of points by Kobe McDonald, Diarmuid Barrett, Peter Barrett and Dylan Flynn.

Charlie Johnston and Senan Guilfoyle drew Ballyhaunis level but Gortnor retook the lead after hitting 1-2, the goal coming from corner back Ronan Walsh.

Three goals in the final ten minutes, however, would lead Ballyhaunis to glory. Senan Guilfoyle, who finished with 1-5, got his goal from the penalty spot, followed by a brilliant individual effort by Charlie Johnston in stoppage time and one from Shane Gallagher to seal a memorable win.

They will now face St Malachy’s, Castlewellan, in St Matthews Park, Crosskeys, Cavan in the All-Ireland ‘C’ semi-final next Saturday.
