Castlebar Celtic FC have announced that they have achieved the FAI Club Mark Two Star Award.

The distinction sees them become the first club from Mayo to receive the Two-Star Award.

The FAI Club Mark is an award for grassroots clubs based on best practice in their management and administration. The programme aims to support and encourage clubs to improve standards off the field with the result of having stronger clubs and a stronger game.

As an FAI Club Mark Two Star club, Castlebar Celtic FC have demonstrated a consistent and high standard of club governance and administration, child welfare, safeguarding and coach development, club strategic and development plan, sustainability, club coaching structure and multiple formats of football and engagement with FAI programs.

The club extended their thanks to the club mark sub-committee of Pat Gavin, Pat Naughton, Joe McDonald, Patricia Heaney and Marian Robinson for the hard work in putting this application together to ensure all the hard work of the committee, volunteers, coaches, players, members and sponsors of the club doesn't go unnoticed.

The club also extended a special thanks to FAI staff Barry McGann and Nigel Naughton for their support.
