Bangor Hibs and Snugboro Utd back in the Mayo Football League for 2024

Bangor Hibs.

A total of 39 clubs will compete in the 2024 Mayo Football League.

The number represents an increase of three from this year, although there are two notable absentees in the shape of Moy Villa and Hollister.

The FAI Club Mark Entry Level was a mandatory requirement for any club wishing to compete in the Mayo League next year and the Western People understands that the two clubs were unable to obtain it.

It is not all bad news for North Mayo clubs as Bangor Hibs have returned to the League after falling away in 2019, while Ballina Town will enter a ‘B’ team this year, as are Ballavary Blue Bombers.

In addition, Westport United will enter a ‘C’ team once more, joining Conn Rangers as the only two clubs with three teams involved.

The junior leagues will commence on the weekend of February 17/18 with the previous weekend designated for friendlies for all teams, similar to last season.

Meanwhile, there will be 26 teams competing in the Under 17 Leagues, which will commence in March.
