Ballina RFC all set for annual Race Day event

Ballina Rugby Football Club Race Day launch in Mount Falcon Estate with Daragh Quinn, Alan Maloney, Ed Gunning and Richard West.

One of the biggest events on the local social calendar takes place this week when Ballina RFC host their annual Race Day in Mount Falcon Estate.

The annual event (in conjunction with Galway Races) generates a wonderful sense of excitement as friends from far and near converge in a sea of colour and celebration.

The event is a major fundraiser for the club and everyone at Ballina RFC is excited to once again partner with Mount Falcon Estate to create one of the most enjoyable events of the summer.

"We're a hugely progressive, community-based club fuelled by high-energy and great people," Ballina RFC President, Ed Gunning explains. "Mount Falcon is an ideal partner for us because the entire estate mirrors our vision perfectly."

Alan Maloney, owner of Mount Falcon, commented: We're delighted to be part of this prestigious fundraising event again this year for our local, dynamic and progressive rugby club.

"I cannot think of a better way to celebrate than an evening here at Mount Falcon enjoying the thrills and spills of the Galway Races."

An integral part of the big day will be the Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman competitions. Club chairman, Alan Rowe, believes this will added even more clamour to the exciting event. "This is another wonderful opportunity for some fun and gives us all the chance to show how colourful we can be."

The event takes places this Friday, August 1. Drinks reception begins at 3.30pm, with the first race from Galway at 5pm. There will be food and wine from the award-winning Mount Falcon restaurant, a fundraising auction for highly-sought-after tickets to sports events, hotel vouchers etc., and music and dancing into the 'wee small hours.'

Tables of ten are available. To book a table for the much-anticipated event, contact Daragh Quinn on 086-8030580, John Rush on 087-6352931 or Mount Falcon on 096-74472.
