Ballina duo selected to play for Ireland in 2025

Grainne Moran and Emily Foley of Ballina RFC have been selected on the Ireland U20 squad to play Wales, France and Scotland this summer.
Summer Series Rugby: Two of Ballina RFC’s brightest talents have been selected for the Irish U20 squad that will compete in the 2025 Summer Series in Wales against Wales, France and Scotland.
Connacht Rugby duo Grainne Moran and Emily Foley have been named by head coach Niamh Briggs in the 35-player squad for the internationals.
Moran and Foley were rugby award winners at this year’s
Mayo Sports Star of the Years Awards along with clubmate Ailish Quinn.Ballina RFC chairman, Alan Rowe, was quick to express his delight. “To have two of our own named in an international squad is very special. Grainne and Emily are thoroughly deserving of their selection and we look forward to watching them wear the green in the next few weeks. I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Grainne and Emily, their families and all the coaches who have helped them along the way. Female rugby in Ballina is thriving and we're very excited about that.”
Briggs says; “This competition represents a significant step in our player development pathway. It provides a valuable opportunity for young athletes to challenge themselves against top-level opposition, experience the demands of an international environment, and continue their progression toward senior rugby.”

Ireland will play Wales on July 5 at 3.30pm, France on July 11 at 3.30pm and Scotland on July 17 at 1pm.
