Sligo Rovers striker earns Player of the Month award thanks to impressive performances

Sligo Rovers striker Wilson Waweru has been named the SSE Airtricity / Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month for July.
During the month, the 23-year-old netted goals in victorious encounters against Bohemians and Galway United in the League of Ireland Premier Division while also bagging a hat-trick against Cobh Wanderers in the FAI Cup.

The former Galway United man, who joined the Bit O'Red at the start of this year, scored the match-winning goal against table-toppers Shelbourne in Rovers' most recent league outing.
John Russell's side sit in fourth place on the table, and eight points off the summit of the standings.
