RTÉ is searching for two new radio presenters and is seeking applications for potential on-air television roles.

The Irish national broadcaster has opened a call for expressions of interest in on-air roles across RTÉ News and Current Affairs as well as Radio One.

RTÉ said it would create a long-list of potential presenters every two years in areas including news, current affairs, general speech programming, entertainment, sport, music and the arts.

When a presenting role becomes available, it said the long-list will be used “as part of the process” to identify suitable candidates.

The broadcaster said: “A shortlist will be created using a weighted criteria suitable for the specific role. ”

RTÉ Radio 1 currently has a role available for a presenter of Liveline, following Joe Duffy’s upcoming retirement.

RTÉ News and Current Affairs also has a vacancy for a presenter with an initial assignment in radio news programmes and podcasting.

Those shortlisted will be required to enter a further selection process for specific roles.

RTÉ said the details of that process would be communicated at a later date but may include interviews or a pilot process.

Those interested are invited to submit a cover letter, CV and a 10-minute showreel.
