Christmas Miscellany with Kate Carty

The impressive Westport Town Hall will host a Christmas Miscellany of readings and music.
As a seasonal treat Westport Civic Trust is to host a Christmas Miscellany of readings and music in the Sean Staunton Room at Westport Townhall on Tuesday, December 12. Kate Carty, Westport and Nottingham, will present selections of her writing and poetry.
Kate has appeared on RTÉ’s Sunday Miscellany on a number of occasions, originally training as a lawyer and specialising as a criminal advocate before becoming Chief Crown Prosecutor for Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. A decade ago she moved to the west of Ireland where her parents hailed from and completed an MA in creative writing at NUIG. On this occasion she will be accompanied by emerging barbershop songsters Sonas, a spin-off from the Townhall Community Choir, and John Scahill a well-known musician from Westport.
All are welcome. Admission is free for members and €5 for visitors.
The performance starts at 8pm.
