Ballinrobe Community School is losing a valued member of their staff.
Principal Willie Culkeen will depart his role at the of this academic year - ending his 34-year professional stint.
The South Mayo school, who described Culkeen as "much loved", formed a guard of honour and applauded their retiring principal as he entered the building.
The school stated that Culkeen's legacy "will last well beyond those years he has so diligently contributed".
