Vehicle with no tax and brake seized on Mayo road

Mayo Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when their attention was drawn to a vehicle.
After examination, the rear tyre was in an extremely poor condition, also the back left brake had been cut off where a vice grips had been clamped to the brake line. The result would be no working brake on that wheel. Tax had also expired on the vehicle.
The vehicle was seized for further technical examination.
An Garda Síochána Mayo remind motorists of the importance of keeping their tyres and vehicle in roadworthy condition to avoid compromising their safety and the safety of other road users.
