Trad stars to light up Ballina this weekend
Mike McGoldrick, Niall McCabe and Nollaig Casey are set to perform at Balina Arts Centre this Saturday night.
Three names who need no introduction to lovers of traditional or folk music are to perform as part of Ballina Fringe Festival this Saturday night.
The lineup features acclaimed fiddle and viola player Nollaig Casey, the incomparable multi-instrumentalist Mike McGoldrick and Mayo’s own Niall McCabe, the guitarist and singer who is one of Ireland’s fast-rising stars of the folk world.
Niall’s music, which is blend of the traditional and contemporary, is deeply influenced by the landscapes and stories of his native Clare Island. His distinctive voice and finger-style guitar playing have earned him a growing fanbase at home and abroad.
Saturday’s concert by the trio is at 8pm in the Ballina Arts Centre.
