Thousands of Mayo homes remain without power
Thunder and lightning storms have caused significant power outages.
Last night’s thunder and lightning has left thousands of home in the county still without power.
ESB Networks has said the estimated restoration time of power to the majority of customers will be around 6pm this evening.
Over 1,500 people are without power in the Crossmolina area, with around 700 outages in the Tubbercurry area of south Sligo.
Cong and Westport are among the areas without power in west Mayo.
Homes in Ballinrobe, Castlebar, Belmullet, Kiltimagh and Charlestown were also impacted.
