Mayo Sports Partnership (MSP) recently celebrated a series of outstanding achievements, highlighting the power of collaboration in driving community health and inclusion.

Committee members and staff gathered recently to celebrate MSP''s success in being named Local Sports Partnership of the Year. The award was bestowed on MSP for delivering measurable health outcomes, fostering community engagement, and strengthening the connection between sport and healthcare through a preventative, community-based approach.

The celebration continued with national recognition at the inaugural National Xcessible Awards, where MSP was the only sports partnership in the country to receive both bronze and silver accolades, along with a special recognition award for its commitment to inclusive and accessible environments. These awards reflect the success of initiatives like Better Balance, delivered in collaboration with the HSE Mayo Primary Care Physiotherapy Department and the HSE Health and Wellbeing Division across Mayo, Galway, and Roscommon.

Chairperson Lyndon Jones praised the staff, committee, Mayo County Council and other partners for their contribution to this fantastic recognition of the valuable work of MSP.

"Collaboration is central to the success of the Partnership since its inception in 2005. I am delighted for all involved. A special word of thanks to Mayo County Council who host and provide support along with Sport Ireland at a national level."

Charlie Lambert, Head of MSP, added: “All the full-time staff, tutors, hub co-ordinators and the many volunteers that we work with are key to the work of Mayo Sports Partnership, we are very lucky to have such a fantastic team."
