MP Moran's & Sons has been in business in Swinford for 16 years. It confirmed on social media last Mondady that it was closing down.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our Swinford branch closing its doors for the final time soon," the post read. "Over the past 16 years, we've been truly grateful for the trust and support of our amazing customers in Mayo."
The company, which hosted a closing down sale in recent days, stated that it will continue to operate in Ireland via its Kerry branch, which is located in Castleisland.

“To say people are stunned is putting it mildly and nobody in Swinford saw this coming. The news is a major blow to 12 loyal and dedicated employees,” she said. “As a councillor, if elected, I will work with local business owners to ensure Swinford is a prosperous town and attractive town to do business.”
