Several motorists caught speeding on busy Mayo road

Mayo Roads Policing Unit recently carried out a speed check on the N5 as part of their ongoing Road Safety Christmas Campaign targeting drink and drug driving, speeding, mobile phone use and non-wearing of seatbelts.
Several motorists were detected travelling well above the 100 km/h speed limit, resulting in a fine and penalty points.
An Garda Síochána Mayo stated: "We are appealing to all those who will be taking to the roads over the Christmas period to slow down, take extra care and give your driving your full attention."
