Scholarship award for Ballina student
Kevin is a former pupil of St Muredach's College in Ballina.
A former Ballina student has been awarded a prestigious scholarship.
Kevin Gillespie, a former student of St Muredach’s College, has been awarded a JP McManus All-Ireland Scholarship after achieving 625 points in his Leaving Certificate last year.
Kevin is currently undergoing a degree in Biopharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Galway.
St Muredach’s hailed Kevin's success.
“Kevin serves as a role model for us all and his award clearly displays what is possible when academic talent meets perseverance," said the school in a statement on social media. “The scholarship is generously supported by J.P. McManus and ensures Kevin will have a financial foundation to pursue his studies over the next four years, so he can focus entirely on achieving his dreams.
“To Kevin's family, and to the St Muredach's staff, who have supported him on his journey, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and pride.”
Kevin was presented with his scholarship at the University of Limerick last Saturday.
