COMMUNITY NOTES: BALLINA - WESTERN PEOPLE (JULY 22 EDITION)

Eugene Walsh

The death has taken place in Leeds of Eugene Walsh, formerly of Glenree, Bonniconlon.

Eugene was the much-loved father of Eugene Jnr, Angela (deceased), Michael and Maria.

He will be sadly missed by his children, daughter-in-law Michelle, son-in-law Paul, sisters Peggy, Josephine, Kathleen (Leeds), Agnes (Glenree) and Christina (Carralavin), brothers-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary, parents Pat and Margaret Walsh, brothers Jack, Martin and Padraig, and sisters Teresa, Nell and Patricia.

Eugene’s Funeral Service took place on Thursday of last week in St Nicholas Church, Oakwood Lane, Leeds, followed by burial at Killinbeck Cemetery, Cross Gates, Leeds.

Dickie Nallon

The death has taken place of Dickie Nallon, Ballymacredmond, Knockmore, Ballina.

Dickie will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Mary, family Maria (Freddie), Richie (Sandra), Angela (Edward) and Sharon (partner Fintan), adored grandchildren Darragh, Ciarán, Keelan, Chloe, Katie, James, Helen, Edward and Noel, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Kate and sisters Mary and Annie.

Dickie reposed at his residence. Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of Christ The King, Knockmore on Monday of last week, with burial afterwards in Ballinahaglish Cemetery.

Seamus Quinn

The death has taken place of Seamus Quinn, Saltfield, Bonniconlon.

Seamus will be sadly missed by his loving wife Eileen, daughter Pauline, son-in-law Gabriel, grandchildren Maire, Deirdre and Eileen, grandson-in-law Kevin, brother-in-law Sean, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

He was predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth, siblings Tony, Elizabeth, Martin and Bea, and step-siblings Mary-Ellen, John and Paddy.

Seamus reposed at Gallagher’s Funeral Home Bonniconlon. Requiem Mass for Seamus was celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bonniconlon on Monday of last week.

Margret Boland

The death has taken place of Margret Boland, Cullane, Attymass, Ballina.

Margret will be dearly missed by her loving family Chris, Tracey and Phil, grandchildren Aidan, Hayley, Christopher and Rosie, great grandchildren Lara, Emily and Arthur, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Mary and twin brother Fr Paul.

Margret reposed in The Father Peyton Centre, Attymass on Tuesday of last week. Requiem Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and St Joseph on Wednesday, followed by burial in New Killeen Cemetery.

Ann Martin

The death has taken place of Ann Martin, 13 Avondale Court, Ballina, formerly of Healy Terrace, Ardnaree, Ballina.

Ann was the beloved mother of Annmarie, Emma, Laura, Megan and Amy. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, grandchildren Conor, Daniel, David, Holly, Hayden, Jamie, Ellie, Noah, Jayden, Fiadh, Jack and Ruby, sisters Mary, Philly, Bernadette and Helen, brother Michael, friend Patrick, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents William and Philomena Martin.

Ann reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Tuesday of last week. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Ballina on Wednesday, followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery.

Paddy Gannon

The death has taken place of Paddy Gannon, Upper Abbey Street, Ardnaree, Ballina.

Paddy was the beloved father of Siobhan, Declan and Jonathon, and will be sadly missed by his sons, daughter, sisters Theresa (Chicago) and Ethel (Dublin), brothers Frank (Australia) and Mark (Ballina), daughter-in-law, son-in-law, granddaughters, grandsons, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary, parents Patrick and Mary Gannon, sisters Maura, Olive and Catherine, brother John and twin brother Michael.

Paddy reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Thursday of last week, with removal afterwards to St Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina.

Requiem Mass was celebrated on Friday, followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.

Peter Hanley

The death has taken place of Peter Hanley, who was from a well-known business family in Ballina that ran a department store on Pearse Street over many decades.

The late Peter, of Fortfield Square, College Drive, Terenure, Dublin and formerly of Church Road, Ballina, will be deeply missed by his loving family Lowrie, Gareth, Sian, Michele, Liam, Cameron, Freda and Suzanne, extended family and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Padraig and Kitty.

Peter reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Friday evening last, with removal afterwards to St Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina.

Requiem Mass was celebrated on Saturday morning, followed by burial in Killanley Cemetery.
