Members of the Antrim Down and Armagh (TADA) Community Rural Support Network and representatives of various voluntary groups from Portadown paid a visit to Ballina last month.

They stayed in Ballina for a number of days and enjoyed shopping in the town. They also paid a visit to the National Museum of Country Life Turlough House and were given a guided tour.

In addition, the group enjoyed a visit to Ballina Municipal District Office where they were received by manager Declan Turnbull and Anna Connor on behalf of Mayo Co Council.

The visit was organised by Arnold Hatch, Portadown and Matt Farrell, Ballina. There have been long-standing ties between Ballina and Portadown in Co Armagh over the past few decades and Matt Farrell, in particular, has done Trojan work to keep the cross-border partnership alive. Visitors from Portadown have regularly come to Ballina for the annual Salmon Festival in July.

Included in the accompanying photograph are Arnold Hatch, Secretary and board member of TADA, and Administrative Officer Tarrie Carville with Willie Maughan, Chairperson, Ballina Men's Shed and Matt Farrell, Chairperson, Ballina/Portadown Twinning Group.
