Ballyhaunis Town FC have launched an appeal to help repair their club grounds after the latest storms caused damage to their fencing.
With fencing around pitches a Mayo Football League requirement, the club are urgently seeking support with the new season to begin next month.
The club said: "On visiting our grounds in Station Rise we discovered that Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn had wreaked havoc on our facilities and unfortunately insurance doesn't cover storm damage.
"We are a small club in east Mayo with no regular income, we rely on player membership, council funding and the very odd fundraising event to run our club. Our hearts sunk when we discovered the damage to our pitch boundary fence this afternoon.
"It is a Mayo League requirement that all clubs must have a fence boundary to protect players and rightly so and with our season starting at the end of February the club simply doesn't have the funds to repair or replace damaged fencing.
"So we are appealing for the help of the community to assist us with our efforts to keep all our spectators and players safe during there activities at our grounds."
