Opening date for Mayo's first columbarium

A date for the opening of Mayo’s first columbarium in Crossmolina will be announced shortly. 

Cllr Michael Loftus told the October meeting of Mayo County Council that the local parish priest Fr Francis Judge has agreed to perform the official opening either in the last week of October or the first week in November. 

The council's Director of Services Joanne Grehan said she would work to confirm the official opening, bearing in mind the dates given.

The columbarium is located in the local cemetery and will be the first of several to be developed in Mayo by the local authority.
