Shock and disbelief at untimely passing of avid GAA supporter

Stephen Jordan RIP.

There is shock and sadness following the passing of Stephen Jordan, Rathslevin, Bohola last Sunday.

Stephen was a huge sports fan, with his love for the GAA in particular clear to see. He travelled the county to watch his nephews and nieces play for Moy Davitts. He always had a smile and a thumbs up for the teams he went to support. His presence at games will be sorely missed by all the young footballers whom he cheered on from the sideline.

Moy Davitts paid tribute to Stephen on social media.

"Stephen had a particular grá for Mayo GAA, attending every game possible. He was always one of the first to take his place in the stand, watching the warm-up and taking in everything that happened on the pitch. He enjoyed the good days….and took the bad days in his stride. A true supporter," they wrote. "Stephen will be remembered for his infectious laugh. He enjoyed the craic. He was always smiling and had a brilliant sense of humour to go with it. Stephen enjoyed socialising and nights out with his friends. Everyone knew Stephen and he knew everyone.

"We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his parents, Tom and Margaret, brother Aidan, sisters Laura and Marie, brothers-in-law John and Neil, sister-inn-law Gemma, his nephews Tom and Harry, nieces Rhea, Molly Ruth, Isabelle, Penny & Frankie and his many, many friends."

Moy Davitts GAA will hold a guard of honour at O’Hora’s Funeral Home this evening at 7.45pm.

Reposing in O'Hora's Funeral Home, Kiltimagh (F12 Y1 F7) this evening from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock.
