It will be a day of celebration in Knock on Saturday, October 18, when Just Go Fitness have their open day ahead of the official opening of their new gym in the local community centre.

Just Go Fitness Knock will be managed by Conor Bowes. The facility, which will officially open on October 20, will be the third for Just Go Fitness, along with gyms in Ballyhaunis and Castlerea, and they are run by founder Joey Ganley.

A native of Tooreen, Joey has been in the fitness industry for over 12 years. He began working in Ballinrobe as a personal trainer and as the gym manager of the Lakeside Centre in Ballinrobe since 2013.

That year also saw him doing gym classes in local sporting clubs like Ballyhaunis Rugby Club and Tooreen Hurling Club.

Five years later, he opened his own gym, the Ballyhaunis Enterprise Centre, in October 2018. Such was the success of the facility that Just Go Fitness opened a second gym shortly after Covid in Castlerea, operating out of the Castlerea Enterprise Hub since January 2022.

Key to the success has been the quality of coaches working in the gym, with eight employees in total, including himself. The gym offers a six-week foundation, nutrition and lifestyle coaching as well as online coaching.

“We have a great team of coaches,” said Joey. “What we do is it's a small group of personal training, nutrition coaching and lifestyle coaching, and it's a very community-run gym. We're very big on community. We meet up every month for hikes and different social events. We're big on creating that kind of community atmosphere, that everyone is made to feel a part of.”

Being big on community, they support local businesses, charities and sports clubs where they can. Every year, they run a charity fundraiser for three local businesses.

The gym offers two membership options: the six-week foundation programme and Just Go. The foundation programme includes a one-to-one consultation and assessment, inbody 270 body composition analyser, personalised nutrition targets including calorie and protein intake breakdown, meal plan and food recipe e-book, four small group personal training sessions across all Just Go gyms, full gym membership across all Just Go gyms, two check ins per week with your coach, guaranteed results if you follow the plan.

The other membership, Just Go, includes four semi-private personal training sessions each week, full key fob access to both Ballyhaunis and Castlerea gyms with programme design, inbody 270 body composition scan every month, a consultation with your coach to assess the goal you want to achieve from week one to week 12 and then further on, access to the gym’s private Facebook group for daily tips, motivation and accountability, support and guidance from our nutritionist, mindset coach and team of personal trainers, fitness recipe e-books to ensure you are fuelling your body and getting results, daily check-ins, and support and motivation to ensure you are educated and attain a new lifestyle.

Customer Quote: If you want to get into the best shape of your life, this is the place. Calling it a gym would be majorly underselling what Joey and crew do here. Strength training, running, HIIT, Hyrox and other events… For more information, visit jgfitnesspt.com.
