Paddington Bear is set to visit Mayo in October ahead of the upcoming release of “Paddington in Peru.”
20 benches, each adorned with a Paddington statue, will be placed in towns across the UK and Ireland to celebrate the release of the new movie which will hit cinemas in November.
Each statue will be painstakingly painted to depict Paddington Bear in his signature red hat and blue coat. Additionally, Paddington would not be Paddington if he wasn’t grasping a marmalade sandwich in his paw.
“Ahead of the new film, fans, families and friends can sit down and have a chat with the marmalade-loving bear, so watch this space for more information about Paddington…coming to a bench near you!” actor Hugh Bonneville, who plays Mr Brown in the film, said in a Facebook post.
