Motorist arrested and charged after performing doughnuts on busy Mayo road

Mayo Roads Policing Unit on patrol recently observed a vehicle performing doughnuts in the middle of the N17 near Charlestown in wet weather conditions.
The motorist was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous driving and will now appear before the courts.
The car was seized under Section 109(A) of the Road Traffic Act.
Under this legislation, in order to get your vehicle back, you must apply to the Judge of the District Court.
An Garda Síochána Mayo said, "This type of behaviour has no place on our roads and endangers lives and other road users."
