A Mayo woman lost her life after she was struck by a bus in London.
Achill native, Kathleen Kilcoyne, aged 73, died after she was hit by a bus in the English capital on Sunday, August 17th.
Ms Kilcoyne, originally from Ashleam in Achill, lived in London.
Police are investigating the accident after the Mayo woman was struck by the bus on Neasden Lane, west London. Paramedics rushed to the scene of the incident where she was later pronounced dead.
Metropolitan Police stated that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident and that the driver of the bus is cooperating with their investigations into the circumstances of the tragic incident.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 73-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene," a statement read.
Ms Kilcoyne was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Margaret, infant twin sister Noirin, sisters Rosaleen, Sally, Maureen, and nephew Tommy.
She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Patsy, Chrissie, Shelia, Angela, Olivia (London), Margaret (Canada), Martina (Castlebar), Ann Ryan (Ballina) and Barbara (Cashel, Achill), brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral arrangements had not been announced at the time of going to print.
