Mayo TD Alan Dillon appointed Minister of State
Deputy Dillon was announced as the new Junior Minister at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government on Wednesday afternoon
Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon has been appointed Junior Minister at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government.
The promotion of Deputy Dillon, who has impressed his party colleagues during his first term in office, was confirmed by Taoiseach Simon Harris this afternoon.
The 41 year old former Mayo GAA star is the chairman and former secretary of Fine Gael.
Deputy Dillon's appointment is seen as a huge positive in terms of his career progression and for the Fine Gael party in Castlebar.
Deputy Dillon took the fourth seat in the Mayo constituency in the 2020 general election after receiving 10,977 votes.
