Mayo men make Rolling Stone’s Greatest Rock Songs of the Century list
Parke native Tom Coll, the band’s drummer, and Castlebar-born bassist Conor Deegan are among the musicians behind Starburster
Fontaines D.C. have made the list of the Rolling Stone's list of the 200 greatest rock songs of the century, with two Mayo men in the band.
Their song Starburster takes 61st place, which is on their album Romance.
“If Fontaines D.C.’s “Starburster” sounds like a panic attack, that’s the point,” Rolling Stone writes.
In the band is Parke native Tom Coll, the band’s drummer, and Castlebar-born bassist Conor Deegan.
Fontaines D.C. have two concerts at Slane Castle next June, becoming only the third Irish band to headline the venue.
The other Irish band to make the list is U2, with their song Beautiful Day coming in at number 22.
