The Mayo branch of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, a charity partner for Mayo GAA, have been presented a cheque for €7,700 by the Mayo GAA County Board.
Mayo GAA Cathaoirleach Seamus Tuohy said: “We are all aware of GAA members, friends and family in our community that are dealing with this life changing disease and everyone associated with Mayo GAA, players, supporters and all our club members are thrilled to be able to support Mayo MND in this small way.
Anne Jordan from Mayo Motor Neurone Disease Association commented, “We are extremely grateful to Mayo GAA for this donation. We are a small organisation that depends heavily on donations and fundraising. A huge thank you to all associated with Mayo GAA for their ongoing support.”
“Motor Neurone Disease is a life changing disease and sadly we are all becoming aware of the great community and club people who are dealing with the illness. Over the next few months we hope to have a few more different events to support the Mayo MND and do all we can to raise awareness of the disease and the supports that are out there,” added Mr Tuohy.
