Foxford-based civil engineering contractor Wills Bros Ltd has announced the appointment of its Legal Director, Trevor Wills, as President of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Ireland.

The appointment carries a special significance for the family-owned Mayo business, as Trevor follows in the footsteps of his father, Charles Wills, who held the same position in 2013.

Speaking about the appointment on its social media pages, Wills Bros highlighted the family connection and what it means to the company.

“His father, Charles Wills, held the same office in 2013, so this means a great deal to us as a family-owned civil engineering business with a long record across Ireland and the UK,” they wrote.

“Please join us in congratulating Trevor. We look forward to seeing him bring his legal and industry experience to the role and speak up for the sector.”

Trevor is a qualified solicitor who holds a first-class honours degree in Business Studies from Dublin City University (DCU) and an MBA from Trinity Business School.

Wills Bros, located along the N58 between Foxford and Straide, has been in business since 1972 and has expanded considerably over the last five decades.

The company had 150 employees in 2002, growing to more than 500 by 2022, the year it celebrated its 50th anniversary.

In October last year, the Mayo company jointly secured a €265 million contract to construct the new West Apron Vehicle Underpass at Dublin Airport.
