The return of the Renault 5 is more than just a new model launch—it’s the reinvention of an icon. Originally a household name in the 1970s and 80s, the Renault 5 has been reimagined for the modern world with sleek styling, smart technology, and an eco-conscious heart. Now fully electric, the Renault 5 E-Tech manages to capture the charm of the original while delivering everything drivers expect from a 21st-century car.
Available with two battery options, the entry-level 40kWh battery offers up to 310km of range (WLTP) and is powered by a 120bhp electric motor. For those who want to go further, the 52kWh battery delivers up to 410km of range and 150bhp, ideal for longer journeys and motorway driving.
Customers can choose between three trim levels—Evolution, Techno, and Iconic—each offering a well-equipped and thoughtfully designed package. The Evolution trim includes Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver display, a 10.1-inch OpenR Link multimedia system, rear parking sensors, and automatic LED headlights.
The Techno trim builds on this with extras such as diamond-cut alloy wheels, Google Built-in services including EV route planning, a rear-view camera, and heated door mirrors. At the top end, the Iconic trim includes Chrono Diamond Cut alloy wheels, hands-free parking, heated seats, and a sophisticated driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping support.
Prices for the 40kWh models start at €25,995 for evolution, rising to €27,995 for techno and €29,995 for iconic—all inclusive of the SEAI grant. For the larger 52kWh battery, pricing starts at €30,995 for techno and €32,995 for iconic.
Five standout colour options are available, including the striking Pop Yellow! and Pop Green!, a direct throwback to the vibrant 70s palette. Also available are Pearl White, Starry Black, and Midnight Blue. The Techno and Iconic trims come with the added option of a two-tone finish featuring a black roof, adding even more visual flair. All versions come with bold 18-inch wheels as standard.
In addition to style and performance, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric delivers exceptional functionality. It features an 11kW AC bi-directional charger with V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities, allowing drivers to power household appliances directly from their vehicle—ideal for camping, festivals or emergencies.
At home, the 11kW onboard charger can top up the 52kWh battery from 15% to 80% in just over three hours. On the road, a 100kW DC fast charger delivers the same boost in just 30 minutes, making it perfect for drivers with busy lifestyles.
